Scope and Contents
This series consists of the organization's publicity materials including newsletters, flyers for events and activities such as the sexual harrassment lecture titled "Speak Out/Teach In on Sexual Harrasment...You are not Alone," press releases, promotional materials and spaghetti dinner materials. Other printed matter from non-NWPC organizations is included, such as the Community Coalition Network, an organization based in San Diego County that advocates a sectarian-free society are represented. Scholars interested in feminism and women in politics will find useful material on the "50/50 by 2000" campaign, a bi-partisan movement started by George A. Dean and supported by organizations such as the (NWPC) and National Organization for Women (NOW) to achieve gender equality in federal and state governments by the year 2000. Also of interest within the series are two DAWN Reports, a monthly newsletter produced by Democratic Activists for Women Now, and "Women in Action Lobby Day," an event designed to educate state policymakers on issues relating to sexual harassment and reproductive freedom.
