The material in this series includes administrative and personal files from Edwards' office in Washington, D.C.: Correspondence (1962-1994) including letters of support and monetary contributions; Political Campaign Files dating from the late 1970s to the end of his career in 1994, and include election endorsements and the activities of his opponents; alphabetical (1989-1991) and chronological (1963-1969) subject files; and trip itineraries.

Arrangement
This series is arranged according to original order of the collection as maintained by Edwards' staff. It generally follows an alphanumeric scheme, with the exception of the subject files, which are organized according to two different filing schemes, reflecting the change in office staff over time. The first set of subject files are arranged alphabetically by subject and date, and the second set is arranged chronologically. The trip files are arranged chronologically by date range.
