Scope and Contents
The material in this series includes correspondence between Dr. Ernest Cleary and his family members, friends, and business associates. A large portion of this series is correspondence from Dr. Ernest Cleary to his mother, Mary Eliza “Mollie” Cleary and from Edna Cleary to her daughters Mary Beth and Margaret. This series documents ordinary life in the Bay Area from pioneering in the mid-late 1800s through the 1970s, and particularly the medical career of an orthopedic physician and his family life.
