This series consists of the files of Protocol Officer Bert Gerlitz. The bulk of these files were created during the mayoral term of Tom McEnery, Susan Hammer's predecessor. The Protocol Office organized special events and made arrangements for the travel of foreign officials to San Jose, arranged the Mayor's travel abroad, and worked to establish relationships between San Jose and other cities. The files include extensive documents regarding San Jose's... relationships with its sister cities.
