Series VI: Photographs, 1938-1994

Scope and Contents

The photographs series spans from 1938 to 1994, and includes a variety of photographic prints, slides, and negatives that depict students in the “Aero Lab,” aviation-related events and conventions/conferences, key people in the aviation department, aircrafts, and more. They depict the different incarnations of the Aviation Lab and the department's equipment, conferences or social gatherings, such as the Federal Aviation Administration Flight Instructor's Seminar. Of note, one department scrapbook includes famous pilots including Amelia Earhart, Sir Charles Kingsford, Charles Lindbergh, and there is also a photograph of a department professor meeting U.S. President Ronald Reagan. These photographs illustrate the livelihood and happenings within the department and beyond.
