Scope and Contents

This series contains papers regarding Blanca Alvarado's community activism and life before and after she was involved in local government, the lives and activism of Blanca's children and grandchildren, and Jose Alvarado's activism and work at KLOK. Topics of interest include Blanca's work in the Chicano Employment Committee, Viva Carter and the Opportunities Industrial Center. Also of interest is the papers relating to the work done by her children Teresa, Mike, and Jaime Alvarado. This series contains correspondence, newspaper clippings, and scripts from KLOK announcements. The dates range from 1939 to 2010.
