Scope and Contents

This series contains materials relating to Blanca Alvarado's terms in the San Jose City Council. Topics addressed in this series are her campaigns and elections, events she attended, her work on the Poco Way neighborhood revitalization, the installment of the Quetzalcoatl statue, and additional projects she was a part of while in the City Council. The dates covered are 1979-1997, but the bulk of the series contains materials from 1980-1996. Types of materials in this series are correspondence, newspaper clippings, photographs, and campaign mailers.
