Scope and Contents

This series contains materials from Susanne B. Wilson’s time as San José City Council Member, Vice-Mayor of San José, and District 1 Representative on the Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors as well as her work afterwards. Topics include Wilson’s involvement in jail overcrowding and the building of the South County Justice Center, as well as Wilson’s feminist activism and work with the YWCA, including her work with the YWCA to build community center Villa Nueva. This series is composed of correspondence, newspaper clippings, event materials, commendations, campaign materials, commendations, scrapbooks, and legal files. The dates range from 1970 to 2007
