The collection consists of three boxes containing materials relating to the personal and professional life of Carolyn Grassi. Series I. Correspondence, 1974-2023 is made up of Grassi’s extensive correspondence with various writers, publishers, artists, friends, and family members. Series II: Personal Papers, 1944-2013 consists of photographs, commemorative materials, and unpublished writings including reflections, poetry, manuscripts, essays, and reviews. Series III: Professional Papers, 1955-2022 contains Grassi’s academic materials from both her time as a student and as a teacher at various institutions, galley proofs and publication materials relating to her books, grant applications, presentation and workshop materials, and published poetry, articles, and reviews. Series III also includes a small number of materials relating to other professional roles held by Grassi.
