Content Description
The Don Edwards Family Photograph Album collection consists of photo albums, scrapbooks, clippings, articles, and correspondence related to the Don Edwards family, namely former congressman Don Edwards and his partner and wife, Edith Wilkie. Photographs are generally of family outings, travel, and political gatherings and events. Articles and newspaper clippings relate to Edith Wilkie's passing, Don Edwards' 100th birthday, and the Don Edwards San Francisco Bay National Wildlife Refuge. There are various cards and correspondence which relate to Don Edwards' 100th birthday.

Biographical / Historical
Don Edwards was a Democratic member of the United States House of Representatives between the years of 1963-1995. He was born in San Jose, California on January 6, 1915 and passed away October 1, 2015 at the age of 100. Edwards was married to Edith Wilkie in 1981 after 11 years together. Wilkie was a peace promoter and arms control activist, working as the executive director of Congress' bipartisan and bicameral Arms Control and Foreign Policy Caucus from 1978 to 1995. Wilkie passed away March 31, 2011 due to cancer and pulmonary disease at the age of 64. A majority of the photograph albums and scrapbooks within this collection were put together by Wilkie.

The Don Edwards Family Photograph Album Collection consists of personal photograph albums, scrapbooks, articles, clippings, and correspondence related to the Don Edwards family. A bulk of the material is focused on former congressman Don Edwards and his partner and wife, Edith Wilkie.
Arrangement
The Don Edwards Family Photograph Album collection is arranged into four series: Series I. Photographs; Series II. Articles and Clippings; Series III. 100th Birthday Correspondence; and Series IV. Scrapbooks and Binders. All series are organized chronologically. The collection is arranged by series size and promenance.
